All medicines have side effects.But many people don't feel the side effects otherwise they are able to deal with them.

Taking complementary medicines and pharmaceutical medicines at the same time will increases the risk of effects,
because the active ingredients in the various preparations can 'clash'.
Consuming alcohol with some medicines can also cause unwanted and sometimes dangerous side effects.These effects include drowsiness.This can particularly important for drivers.
HOW TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SIDE EFFECTS
1.Take all medicines strictly as prescribed.Taking medicines incorrectly can cause side effects.
2.Don't take anyone Else's medicines.
3.Learn about medication.All prescribed medicines have an information leaflet called Consumer Medicines Information(CMI). This includes detailed information on the medicine in simple English,including using suggestions,side effects and precautions.
4.Please refer the medicines for the expiry date.Because expired medicines may cay cause severe dangerous to us.
SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU MANAGE SOME COMMON SIDE EFFECTS FROM MEDICINES.
1.CONSTIPATION- Eat fiber fruits and vegetables such as apples,dried plum,beans and broccoli.
Drink plenty of water and liquid juices.
Do exercise.
2.DAYTIME SLEEPINESS- This problem may go away as your body gets used to the medicine.
Ask your doctor if you can take your
medicine at bedtime.
Do not drive or handle heavy instruments
when you feel drowsy.
3.DIARRHEA- Eat mild and low fiber foods,such as apple sauce,rice and fermented milk products. Avoid spicy and high-fat foods until you feel better. 4.DIZZINESS-Get up slowly from sitting or lying down. 5.DRY MOUTH-Chew sugarless gum,or suck on sugarless candy. Take frequent sips of water throughout the day. 6.HEADACHES-These may go away as your body gets used to take medicine. Ask your doctor what medicine you can take for a headache. 7.LESS OF HUNGRINESS-Try to eat little amount of food for six times in a day.Have healthy snacks between meals. Include favorite foods at each meal. Take a walk before you eat.This may make you hungrier. 8.UPSET STOMACH-Ask your doctor if you can take the medicine with food. Eat several smaller meals a day rather than two or three large meals. Try pepper mint candy or gum.Pepper mint can help settle your stomach. Eat bland foods,such as dry crackers or plain bread.Avoid fried,greasy,sweet and spicy foods. 9.FEELING NERVOUS-This problem may go away as your body gets used to the medicine. Ask your doctor if there is another medicine you can try. 10.SLEEP PROBLEMS-Avoid caffeine,nicotine and alcohol. Don't exercise in the late afternoon or evening. Keep your bedrooms quiet,dark and cool. And use a sleep mask and ear plugs. 11.SENSITIVE TO THE SUN-Stay out of sun.if possible. Wear long pants,long sleeved shirts,and hats if possible use sunscreen with an SPF that your doctor recommends. |
